The Alfa Giulietta: Review

The Alfa Giulietta has been described as having interesting looks and it is certainly very stylish both in the shape of the body and inside the cabin. To complement this model we have produced a set of car mats that are the most accurate pattern available for both the automatic model and the manual. The front mats in each set have two fixings making them very safe and secure for both the driver and passenger. A quality set of mats for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta will enhance the interior of the car as well as providing protection from road dirt.

Alfa Romeo fans have a choice of four models in the Giulietta series. There is also the option for both a petrol or a diesel engine and the diesels give good economy with the 1.6 litre returning 64.2 mpg and also having low carbon emissions (114g/km of CO2). The interior of the model is stylish, like all Alfas, but quality build is not a strong point in the Alfa range. The driving position is uncomfortable with a cramped footwell and pedals that are too close together. There is no space to rest your foot when not on the clutch. The steering wheel is too far from the driver and the pedals too close together which makes it impossible to get the driving position right. Like many other Alfa models this one has poor visibility out of the back window due to the shallow glass and the door pillars are too thick making parking difficult. Although the dash is attractive the controls take some time to sort out due to a less than satisfactory layout.

The boot space in the Giulietta is small giving 350 litres of luggage room which can be increased by folding down the split seats. However, there is very little other storage as the model only has a tiny middle cubby in the central armrest and a normal glove box. Specifications which come as standard are air con and electric windows for both front and back. The top range model has dual climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and an MP3 connection. On the road the grip is good with very little roll and the car rides bumps very well. The twin clutch semi automatic transmission has paddles on the steering wheel for changing gear. The array of safety features means that the Giulietta scored a hefty 97% in the Euro NCAP safety tests which awarded it five stars.

The top range model of the Giulietta has MultiAir valve technology which helps with the fuel economy and all models come with a three year/unlimited mileage warranty. Alfa Romeo is still expanding its dealer network so servicing will be readily available in most parts of the country. Diehard Alfa Romeo buyers will be delighted with the model’s stylish looks, economical engines and attractive interior and will soon forgive the problems associated with a cramped rear space and uncomfortable driving position. Driving an Alfa Romeo marque is often a can fanatic’s ambition and although the price for this model is a little high it is well worth the extra.

Our Alfa Romeo Giulietta car mats are designed to perfectly fit the stylish interior of this model.
